Our newly reimagined bar at Castle Hotel brings warm lighting, rich textures and comfortable corners to Windsor High Street. Come in for a morning coffee, a pint from Windsor & Eton Brewery or a cocktail before dinner at Penningtons. There’s plenty to settle in for. 

A story in every serve 

To create our cocktail list, we partnered with Zoe Burgess, founder of Atelier Pip and one of Britain’s leading flavourists. Her approach brings flavour, fragrance and storytelling together, with drinks that have a connection to the building you’re sitting in. 

The Penny Negroni raises a glass to George Pennington, one of the hotel’s earliest innkeepers and the inspiration behind our name. The Mermaid Inn Martini recalls the hotel’s original name when it welcomed travellers in 1528, while the Tap Room Shandy gives a fresh turn to its historic taproom. 

A few centuries of stories. Plenty to discuss over the first round. 

Alongside them, you’ll find well-made classics, carefully chosen wines, beer from our neighbours at Windsor & Eton Brewery and thoughtful low and no alcohol options. A day worth celebrating deserves a good drink, whatever’s in your glass. 

Introducing Penningtons Pour 

We’re delighted to introduce Penningtons Pour, giving you another reason to drop in between 4pm and 6pm, Monday to Thursday. 

How about a pint and a delicious Penningtons pork pie for £10, or one of our cocktails for just £7? 

Make us your next stop after the Long Walk, put down the shopping bags or round up a few colleagues after a day of meetings. We’ll take care of the drinks.
